2nd / 3rd level Support at the Sun Managed Service Team. The team manages ca. 300 servers and 35 Sun Cluster systems connected to HDS 9970, 9980 and 9990 SAN Storage, Cisco and Brocade switches. The systems are spread over the sites Zurich, London, New York, Singapore as well as Tokyo and are monitored 24x7 hours with an SLA of 99,999 %.

Responsibilities:

• In charge of patch management and Sun Alerts. Creating weekly analyses and reports of newest available patches.
• Managing Brocade SilkWorm 3800, 3900 und 4100 switches.
• Operating Sun Cluster 3.1 and 3.2 systems as well as solving problems in case of an outage.
• Buildup of a extensive CMDB database of all managed systems and applications based on SysSCAN data provided by CoreSoftware.
• Development of diverse scripts to analyze patch arrears, automate 1st level tasks and generating dynamic reports.
• Development of different websites such as displaying the CMDB content having a graphical interface to generate reports as well as managing Sun cases.
